Catching Up

Ohh crap! This looks like a dead blog already. It's been months since I last wrote something. So, life's been so wonderful; everything goes smoothly.
I've officially graduated from high school last May with, err, sufficient-but-not-satisfying result. I was quite taken aback when I first saw my report paper; it has a 42/49 written on it. As if it wasn’t enough, I’ve also got 1 insufficient mark in physics. My rank dropped drastically yet there’s nothing to be regretted about. At first I was scared to tell my parents because I played a lot during that semester, I also skipped class and tuition without them knowing.
However my struggle didn’t end there, I still had to study hard for SNMPTN, I forget what that stands for, but it’s a national test held for students who wants to pursue their studies at local universities. We can choose either 2 majors in 1 university or 1 major in 2 different universities. So we basically have two choices; I had medical science for my first choice, and dentistry for my second choice, both were to be taken at University of North Sumatera. We had the test on June, so I had more than a month to prepare myself and I decided to take a course at Ganesha Operation, an institution which specialised in preparing students for the test. And luckily enough I passed the test, so I was accepted at USU (University of North Sumatera), majoring in medical science.
My big family was delighted and I received some presents from them. My friends also congratulated me for my acceptance; most of my friends who joined this test also passed it and I congratulated them as well. Twitter was overflowed with congratulatory tweets for those who passed.
Unknowingly, I’ve written so many, many things already. But what to do, I’m just that talkactive!

Fifty

Oh my goodness! So happy. Have just known my final result. It's not very, very splendid like my friends', but I'm still happy. I am the 22th from 48 students in my class and the 50th from more than 500 senior high students in my school. This is the first time I reach top 50, and I am just too happy to believe it!

April's Voices

Happy April Fools people. Having fun today? How many prank have you played or got today? I didn't get or play any, but today was surely a fun day.
Planned to go to karaoke since last week, we finally went there today. The idea just popped out all of a sudden from someone, more likely was from me, during the last lesson of today. Then me and Billy asked Vero whether she can go or not. When she has already agreed, Melisa and Ody decided to join us. We texted Stevent, Jeanne and DJ afterwards, since they didn't attend the same class with us. All of them say no, except for Stevent, he is a freak when it comes to singing things, find him here: http://steventwongso.blogspot.com/
I was worried at first, in as much as I never sing before, that I wanted to cancel it. Thanks God I didn't do that. AA joined us at lunchtime and agreed to go with us, Vero must be delighted. We went to M-box, the nearest karaoke place, and chose Indiana Jones room, but then we changed to Narnia's.
It was awkward for the first time, but Billy and Stevent managed to be the first to sing, then Vero, AA and Ody started afterwards. It was only Me and Mellisa who were sitting around and watching them singing. They were begging to hear our magnificent voices, but I firmly said no, LOL!
After some songs, Ody and Mellisa had to go home, so that left only 5 of us. It was the time when I became crazy. When Stevent and Billy sang Dynamite, I started to take my shoes off and bounce, no, jump on the couch. The rest of them soon followed me except Vero who was busy recording us. Then we jumped, danced, and screamed like crazy on the sofa.
My first song was Nothing's Gonna Change My Love and I sang it with Vero. Then You Belong With Me, Lucky, When You're Gone and I Heart You with Billy, and a bit of Last Farewell with AA before they pressed the skip button.
Our karaoke time was ended by Billy and his INNOCENCE. The most memorable duet according to me were Vero and AA who sang a Mandarin song, Stevent and AA who got the highest score, plus Stevent and Billy who sang Dynamite. I was utterly weary, not for singing, but for the jumping part. However I was happy, and that's the sole thing I'll remember.

Sorry

I tend to hurt people although I never mean to.
I feel bad after wounding one's heart.
I act like a jerk when I lose my temper.
I hate advices yet I know I need them.
I find it's hard to say this words, I'm sorry.
Although it's invisible, I wish you could see it more than anyone else.

Bronze

Have good news to share here. I achieved a bronze medal for symbol design. It was beyond my expectation to tell you the truth. I'm not satisfied with my symbol, but I can't say that I'm not happy to procure this medal.

In The Middle

Arghh! I'm in the middle of mid test now. Today was the second day and we got Civics and English test. I worked harder this time since I got an out-and-out result last semester. And so far so good! I'm satisfied with my Chemistry test yesterday. I also think that I've done pretty good as for today tests. But I'm not confident with my Maths, let alone Physics. Thanks God, we'll have a break tomorrow, so there are 2 days left before Maths.
Anyhow, I watched MblaQ Idol Army days ago, and I'm officially in love with them. Thunder, Sandara's brother, catches my attention the most. But SeungHo, G.O, Mir are handsome as well, while Joon is my least favorite member.

That's all for this post. Need to study!

Gold

Ha! How long have I been gone? Now I'm here to fill you.
I've been through a rough week you know. And it's because of P2S1, which is at it's end now. I joined recycling and bulletin board competition, have I mentioned them? I also tried my luck by sending the P2S1's symbol I made.
Hitherto, our class has received some medal–more than we expected actually. But before P2S1 comes to it's end, I'm not going to count them first, since we're still waiting for another medals.
I dedicated this post to all my classmates who have struggled a lot for the recycling competition, which brought us the first gold. Do you know what we made? Since the theme of the recycling is Indonesia, we made Monas, the landmark of Jakarta. And because the bulletin board's deadline was one week before recycling's, so we determined to finish BB first. After we accomplished it, all of a sudden we heard that the recycling's deadline was accelerated to Friday, so it left only 4 days for us.
Filled with despair, some of us even talked about yielding. But Feona, me and some others refused, and the rest started to change their mind afterwards. We also changed the whole plan of making Borobudur and made a new one, Monas. With a new plan and new gusto, we sketched our monas and finished the basic foundation, which was made from cardboard, in only one day.
Our Monas has 4 functions, such as, an ornament, a tissue box, a small cupboard, and the last and most controversial lamp-holder. Why is it controversial? Because the lamps aren't recycable, yes. But, one thing I want to clarify here is that we didn't make the lamps, we made a lamp-holder instead.
I wish people could understand the difference between lamp and lamp-holder. Like the tissue box, we put tissue in it to show it's function. It's impossible for us to recycle the tissue paper, isn't it? The same thing was applied to the lamp-holder. The lamps were also made by one of our class member, Vero, since we prevented to spend money for this project.
The cupboard was nailed by Ody, Kenly and Julie. Eka was the one who gathered the useless wood from her father's factory. The wood was really useless, it can be proved by it's rough surface and unmatched size that we covered with newspaper-pulp.
Suggested by Billy, the lazy-susan was made from broken glass. It was placed between the cupboard and monas, so we could rotate the monas. The body of our monas was covered by newspaper that was cut like pieces of puzzle. This idea was from Vero while SPU, Sherly, Inneke, Zuel, Fitri, Ivana, and Loretta materialised it. With Leonardy and Kevin's presentation, we accomplished our project.
We put our hopes in it. We wish we could win, at least silver, since other's projects are also impressive. Today around 11, when Julie and Cindy entered our class with very bright smiles, we knew what they meant. They confirmed it by saying GOLD. In a second we, all of the class members, screamed, jumped and clapped our hands like crazy. Our hard work was paid off.

P2S1

For you to know, we are in the middle of P2S1, Pekan Prestasi Sutomo 1, which is a popular annual event of our school. It was held for more or less 2 weeks, with one main event in which some students performed their talent such as singing, dancing, playing drama and telling jokes.
Students, embodied their classes, competed to get medals in 2 weeks. Many competitions were provided; badminton, relay race, wall magazine, graphic design, programming, karaoke, sudoku, othello, scrabble, debate, news reading. In short, it was countless, more than 50 medals were provided as gifts. And class with the most medals would be regarded as a champion in the end of this event.
I join wall magazine and recycling competition this year. I hope I can contribute medals to my class that way. Wishing to gain a medal, I also tried to send my creations of P2S1 symbol and mascot. I didn't win indeed. I am lacked of skill and time. But it doesn't matter. You win, you get medal, you lose, you get experience. So nothing to lose. Nah, as for my classmates, I wish they can do their best and win. For the one who have lost, I wish they can take it easy and try again next year.
I posted my creations here. What do you think? My friends said that the mascot is weird and childish. Well, it's weird of course as I'm not good at creating something like this.

Unique Gadgets

My newest wall magazine project is 5 most unique gadgets in 日本. These are the result.

5 most unique :
1. Nap Alarm
This nifty little device goes behind your ear and vibrates when it detects you are falling asleep by measuring the speed of head movements (head nodding, etc.). Perfect for boring classes, drives, and work. It costs only $15 (1,800 yen).

2. Ear Wax Cleanser/Camera
Put simply, this is one of the strangest gadgets we've come across. This device sports a camera/light at one end and a viewer at the other end -- allowing users to see built-up ear wax. It's powered by a single 9V battery and is made from anti-bacterial ASB resin/glass/stainless steel.

3. The Sauce Dispensing Chopsticks
With these sauce dispensing chopsticks you'll never have to dip your sushi in soy sauce again For $21, you can purchsae two pairs of these chopsticks -- made from polypropylene and ABS.

4. Japanese Air-Shower System
This Japanese air-shower system is situated in a 2 m (tall) x 90 cm (wide) chamber and uses 12 nozzles to blow off any allergens (pollen and dust) found on the body/clothes.

5. Cardboard Speakers
MUJI (best known in Japan for their innovative yet simple products) introducesa new line of cardboard speakers, which consist of "a few" electronic components and ship unfolded in a clear plastic pouch -- so fold them up and they're ready to use.
